   Under 10's B Match Reports

2009 - 2010

Wealdstone B 5 St Josephs C 0

On a lovely bright October day we had a our first game of the season at Home 'V' St Joseph's C's
The game began with most of the play up our end, and for the first 10 minutes things looked like we'd be lucky to come away with a draw. However with Alfie, Sam and Ilyas doing some great defending our boys started to warm up and things soon looked much better, we were on the attack  and finally got the ball up into St Joseph's end - unfortunately though our shots at goal (mostly from Ciaran) went wide or were saved by the goalie. But we continued to play hard, then as luck would have it Joey scored our first goal with just seconds to spare before the half time whistle!
The second half started better with our boys well up for it - every one of them making great tackles and chasing up the ball. We had a few more attempts at goal before Ciaran finally found the back of the net, not long followed by Ciaran setting up Joey for his second goal of the game. Ciaran - not to be out done went and scored his own second goal making it 4 - 0. Sam and Harry also had some unlucky attempts at goal. The game ended on a high with Alain sneaking a goal in just before the final whistle. The boys played great football today and showed that they can work as a team. Well done boys, you deserved it !!!!
Team today was = Donnachadh, Ciaran, Sam, Ilyas, Alfie, Harry, Alain & Joey
Ruislip Rangers B v Wealdstone

On a cold and overcast Sunday morning the Stones were away to Ruislip Rangers, we knew today's game was going to be tough due to recent matches and the fact they were at home.Today's team was down to the bare bones with only 7 boys available.
The game started fast with tackles flying in from both teams, Ruislip are a big outfit with some quality players so the Stones had to have their football heads on today. The Stones had the early chances in the first 10 minutes and should off been in front but top class saves from their goalie prevented Rawn and Joey scoring early on. Ruislip soon turned things around and started creating good chances themselves but great defending from Jae and Tarhi and fine saves from Drilon kept the score even. The game was end to end with chances aplenty for both teams, Drilon was called into action again saving well from a Ruislip forward, Drilon cleared to Jae who found Albie who skipped past 2 players to set up Rawn only to see his shot cleared off the line by a Ruislip defender, Cos then went close and Joey also had a shot well saved off the line by a defender. HALF TIME.
With no subs today the message to the boys at half time was don't give up and keep playing your game, Ruislip started liverly in the second half but Jae and Tarhi dealt with it well but Ruislip almost went in front when a long range shoot hit the bar but was cleared by Jaedan, this was a wake up call and the Stones started playing again and should of taken the lead, great efforts from Joey and Cos brought top saves out off the Ruislip goalie again (man of the match in our eyes). Ruislip play good football from the back to front and a good break found their striker one on one in the area but out of nowhere Albie caught him up and pulled off a top tackle to clear the ball just as he was going to strike and put it out of danger. The boys were shattered but never once gave up, Jaedan and Rawn were immense today and worked their socks off, Drilon was always switched on and claimed everything, Tarhi was clearing out he danger, Albie run his socks off up and down the line and covered in defence, Joey was holding the ball up and paying quality passes to Cos who was unlucky not to have got on the score sheet after trying so hard to score.
The game finished 0-0 but what a game to watch end to end battling football from both teams.
