Sunday 27th January - Message from James

I have just spoken to Terry who told me you beat Harrow St Mary's again today. I was really pleased for you all. This season was never going to be easy as we stayed up in Division One but what ever happens I am happy with hearing about the result today.

I saw Terry this morning while I was doing the tidy up at Ruislip Manor today in order to get the ground up to standard for next season. Unfortunately I didnt' finish until 4pm so couldn't make it down to the game.

It was also good to see most of you at training on Wednesday. I have not seen you all since before Christmas and was pleased to catch up with you all. I hope to get down to a home game soon but well done today.

James

Saturday 20th October - James leaves coaching role wih under 15's

It is with regret that James has decided to step down from his coaching role with the under 15's after 5 1/2 years. Due to locaton and travelling he has found it harder and harder to commit his time to the team. With his commitments with the first team and trying to balance that with work and his partner Samantha he has found it extremely tiring and financially hard.

It was a very hard decision for him. " Wealdstone FC is a massive part of my life. I have supported them since I was 5 years old and have taken on many roles in my time with the club. I am very proud to have managed a Wealdstone team and can hold my head up high, knowing I gave my all to the cause and be proud of my achievements" he said.

"This was not an easy decision to make but my head ruled my heart in the end and I realised it was the right thing to do. I will still come and watch the team play at home when I can and also carry on with admin work to help Terry".

"I have many great memories, none more so that when we won promotion in our first season in 11-a-side football. The emotions at Heathrow Club that day were amazing and I will never forget it"

"I have made many great friends along the way and will still see them as much as I can and keep in touch with them all. I would like to thank them for all their support and effort over the past few years and wish them well"

"I will still remain on the committee and hope to offer assistance to Alison and John in an admin sense in the near future".

Down but not out!

Friday evening saw the first 'game' of the season against Headstone Manor A in a friendly at Broadfields. The inclusion of new players Kieran, JP, Jalal, Jack, Joe and Jamie saw new looked side take the field.

There were plenty of encouraging aspects and despite losing 4-0 we were unlucky not to score on several occasions with Frankie seeing his header hit the bar and Charlie and George seeing chances just go wide.A full report will appear on the match report page.

Jean-Pierre Joseph signs

The club completed the signing of Jean Pierre Joseph last week from Harrow St Mary's. JP is a welcome addition and we hope he will settle in well.

Jelal Mahmoud signs

This week saw the signing of Jelal Mohamed from Belmont United. He comes to the team after some good convincing from the management team and good performances in training. He is currently away in Germany but will be back in time for the start of the season.

County Cup Draw announced

We will entertain Ridgeway Rovers in the County Cup on September 16th. The winners will be away to either Hanworth Villa or Kensingtons Dragons.

Friendly Cancelled

Sunday's friendly against North Greenford has been cancelled due to the lack of players, with many people being away it has become difficult to raise a team.

Joe Young signs

We welcome Joe Young to the team who has signed from Oxhey Jets, where he scored on a regular basis.

Super Stones are runners up in Kodak tournament - Sunday 15th July 2007

Today was the start of a new era for the coming seasons under 15's and what a start it was. The boys put on a superb performance to reach the final only to lose with a minute to go against Northwood B.

We got off to a great start with a 2-0 win over Northwood A with a cracking goal from George and another from DB.

The second game against Headstone Manor D was slightly frustrating as we gave away a goal with the last kick of the game after George had given us the lead.

We only needed a point against Harrow St Mary's to qualify for the quarter finals and that is what we got with a 0-0 draw. The result meant that both of us the same points and goal difference meaning a penalty shootout would be needed to decide who finished top and second.

We confidently scored all five of our penalties with Kieran saving their first one. We finished as group winners.

The quarter finals were very tight with DB giving us the lead with a fine volley but we could not hold on a conceded an equaliser. The game went into extra time and the deadlock remained so penalties would again decide our fate.

George, Jack and Charlie scored for us with Kieran saving their third penalty out of three, which meant we went through to the semi finals.

This was a hard game against a strong Kodak team but a bit if genious from Jack when he scored direct from a goal kick made for a nailbiting end but we hung on well and made it through to our first final.

The boys were extremely tired but gave it their all against a good Northwood team but just didn't have enough energy left to go all the way. A last minute goal in extra time gave The Woods the win.

It was a great day and a superb effort from all. A special mention goes to Kieran who excelled on his debut in goal.

There are some photos below of the day.

The players collect their runners up trophies:

The Players and Management.

Squad: Kieran, Frankie, Almas, Daniel B, Charlie, Jack, George and Blayne.

Raymond Cullis leaves - Sunday 8th July 2007

Today saw Raymond decide to leave the team. James took a call from his dad at lunchtime and stated that he and Raymond had had a chat about the coming season and they have decided that he should join another team where he can get regular football.

We understand his decision and we left things on ammicable terms. We wish Raymond well for the future.

Round up of the last few weeks - Saturday 7th July 2007

Today gives James the chance to give everyone a round up of what has been going on during the pre-season with the under 15's.

Signings

Both Terry and James have been very busy in recruiting players for the coming season and have signed Jack Keeble from Kodak. Jack is a year younger than the other boys but certainly doesn't look it! He is a superb addition to the team. Jack has been at Watford as well.

Also signed is Kieran who comes recommended from some of our players. Kieran is a goalkeeper and is a welcome addition to the team after last seasons problems.

We are working hard to persuade others to come in and Terry has been really enthusiastic and pro-active in the summer.

Awards Night

Despite a poor season the mood in the camp was good and an enjoyable evening was had by all. James managed to get first team skipper Chris O'Leary to come along and present the trophies.

Our winners were Adam Baldwin (Managers Player of the Year), This was due to his consistent performances and his progress made over the last two seasons. Adam has become a hard tackling player and although had a couple of below par games he deserved his award.

Josh Marks received his first ever individual award in 5 years by winning Most Improved Player. Josh is a player who James rates highly because although not the biggest and hardest of players who has a superb attitude and awareness on the pitch. He has come on really well this season, especially in the second half of the season. It is always hard to improve when the team aren't doing too well but Josh has done that.

George was close to winning the managers player but did well to be recognised by his fellow team mates and win the Players Player of the Year award. George has been starved of service and did get very frustrated but his desire to work hard in training and on the pitch showed why he deserved his award.

Almas picked up the Parents Player Award. Almo has always been consistent since his arrival and again showed that this season. Hopefully he will continue to improve this coming season.

Training

We will have a small training session on Tuesday at Whitchurch Playing Fields, starting at 6:30pm in preparation for the coming season and also the Kodak tournament on Sunday.

Full training will start on Wednesday 23rd July same time, same place.

Everyone starts with a clean slate this year and it is up to the boys to work hard to earn a place in the side.

Winter training will start in October at The Sir John Alum Sports Centre, off Little Oxhey Lane, South Oxhey.

Wealdstone FC Promotional Video - Sunday 3rd June 2007

Wealdstone FC have put together a four minute promotional video. This is a fantastic advert for the club and includes goals from the FA Trophy Final in 1985, which the Stones won, goals from our Championship game at Northwood in 1997, the drama of the Play Off Final against Dulwich a few years ago and also some wonder goals from Jermaine Beckford before he joined Leeds United FC.

Have a look, it shows how well the club is supported and what we are all about:

Team Meeting re-arranged - Saturday 2nd June 2007

Apologies to everyone who received my letter about a team meeting/BBQ at Terry's house on the 9th June. I was reminded on Thursday evening that I have a wedding to go to on that day so we had to postpone.

We will now meet at 7pm on the evening of the awards at The Tithe Farm Social Club so we can talk to you all before the awards start. The BBQ will be re-arranged for later in the summer.

Please be there on time so we can not be rushed to get to the awards.

Apologies for the mix up.

Sad farewell to DA - Thursday 31st May 2007

It will be a sad night at the presentation evening because Daniel Allister will be leaving the team and moving to Ireland, the native home of his parents.

Daniel has been with the team for 5 years and has been a tremendous servat to James and his team mates. He will be sadly missed not only for his footballing abilities but his personality too.

DA has become a very good player and thoroughly deserved to win Player of the Year in 2006. His mum Evanne was parent rep for a while and done a great job organising one of our tours.

On behalf of everyone I would like to wish Dan, Evanne, Keith and Laura all the very best of luck and hope they will keep in touch.

Good luck Dan.

Mini-Soccer is back - Thursday 31st May

Mini soccer is returning to Wealdstone FC this coming season. The mini soccer school first took off in the later years at Lower Mead Stadium, where alot of the boys and girls formed teams to compete at Sunday youth level.

After an absence of a few years the club is resurrecting its former glories. The initial open day will be on Saturday 23rd June 2007 at Centenary Park, Stanmore from 10am to 12pm. Boys and girls from 5 - 10 years are welcome.

See Mini Soccer homepage for more details

Awards Evening Date - Monday 28th May

This years Awards Evening will take place at The Tithe Farm Social Club, Rayners Lane on Friday 15th June. 7.30pm start.

The usual awards will be given out including:

Managers Player of the Year; Players Player of the Year; Most Improved Player of the Year; Parents Player of the Year and Top Goalscorer.

Every player is to attend and parents are welcome. There will be a small admission fee for non-players.

Britton relieved of duties - Monday 28th May

Mark Britton has been relieved of his duties as assistant manager of the team. James sent him a long text message after having not heard from him for weeks. The content of the message basically said that James felt let down buy his lack of communication, committment and felt he had also let down the players in the same way.

It also said that James felt let down not just recently but the whole season, with phone calls early on Saturday mornings cancelling training due to alleged works commitments. A reply was not forthcoming.

James has now officially relieved him of his duties in his absence although Mark probably relieved himself of his duties!

Discussions go down well - Monday 28th May

The future of the team seems to have been secured after discussions took place with Terry Keeble and James on Tuesday evening. A meeting and end of season BBQ will take place at Terry's house on Saturday 9th June to discuss our plans for the coming season and generally have a get together after a hard season.

A letter will be sent to you this week confirming times and details.

Manager contemplates the future - Sunday 6th May

After a long and stressful season James informed the players and parents that he maybe stepping down as manager. His reasons were made known to the boys on Thursday and to the parents today.

This season has been very tough and feels he has been let down by a lot of people. Also the financial implications of travelling to and from training and games is one consideration he needs to weigh up.

The meeting with the parents was very positive and a decision will be made by the end of May on James' future. The team will carry on no matter what.

Brunswick default double header - Sunday 6th May

At short notice Brunswick informed us that they were unable to field a team today. Meaning we will probably get all six points.

April?

FC Roundwood game off - Thursday 26th April

Due to Roundwood playing in the League Cup Semi-Final our match has been cancelled on Sunday. Most of you are aware that we have decided that our double header against Brunswick will be our last game of the season next week.

The Roundwood game will probably go unplayed as James is not to chase around after a meningless fixture and one which could be played weeks after our last game.

Poor performance.....ref even worse! - Sunday 21st April

Today was a game we could have won and would have given us a boost to finish above our opponents but a poor performance cost us as we lost 4-2 to Hayes Gate.

Brunswick agree to play double header on 6th May  - Monday 16th April

Having spoken to Brunswick this evening they have agreed to play us at Broadfields on 6th May in a double header rather than play against us on the Saturday 28th April.

Remaining fixtures out - Monday 16th April

We will be at home this Sunday to Hayes Gate, kick off 2pm. We are due to be away to Brunswick the following Saturday (28th) although I am trying to change this so we play them in a double header at Broadfields on the 6th May.

We play FC Roundwood on Sunday 29th April away. Full lists can be found on the fixtures page.

No Game this weekend - Monday 9th April

We have not been given a game this weekend coming but are at home to Hayes Gate the week after (22nd).

Training - Friday 6th April

We will train this Thursday 12th April from 5:15pm until 6:45pm. We will see how this goes with the view to train on Thursday's until the end of the season, now the evenings are lighter.

Free Easter Weekend - Friday 6th April

It has been confirmed that we have no game this week, therefore there will be no training this Easter Weekend.

Message from the Manager - Monday 2nd April

Yesterday i was very disappointed with what I saw over the weekend. Training was very poor and the performance against Forest was simply not what I expect from a team who need to win games.

I simply can accept losing but not the way we lost yesterday. We must show some spirit and a bit more effort like we have done in the past few games against better teams.

On a positive note I will say I am grateful to you for sticking at it when you have been left in the lurch by others. The fact that vital players have left has led us into this situation and has put masive pressure on us all.

I will thank you for sticking with it while others haven't. Chin up lads.

League News - Monday 2nd April

Hendon went joint top of the table by picking up 4 points in a double header against nearest rivals Greenford Celtic. They drew 2-2 on one game and Hendon just edged the second 3-2.

Brunswick also picked up 4 points with a 0-0 draw and 4-1 win against Hayes Gate.

April Fools Day performance! - SundayÝst April

Today was April fools day and it felt like someone was playing a joke today as we put in a very poor performance against a very average Forest United team. We lost 5-0 and never put in the effort we had shown the past few weeks.

March?

Easter weekend off! - Wednesday 28th March

The club have 'closed' Easter weekend (6 - 9th April) with no fixtures for our youth teams. Therefore there will be no training that week, giving you a free easter holiday.

Yet another flattering scoreline as Stones go down to unbeaten Greenford Celtic - Sunday 25th March

Despite taking the lead with a fine goal from George Muchemwa we were considerably unlucky to lose 6-1 against a Greenford Celtic side who have won all their games this season. See match report.

Greenford visit Broadfields on Sunday - Thursday 22nd March

We are at home to Greenford Celtic on Sunday, normal kick off time of 2pm.

Flattering scoreline in defeat at Ruislip Rangers - Sunday 18th March

A 5-0 defeat sounds bad but it was not a deserved scoreline. Played in bitterly cold gales and hail it was never going to be a pretty match and our cause was not helped by a very poor referee.

Not much happening! - Sunday 11th March

With no game for three weeks due to the weather and the league not giving us a game, there has not been much to write about!

First team update - Sunday 11th March

On loan striker Theo Robinson scores twice to help the Stones pick up a vital win against fellow strugglers Tiverton Town yesterday. Robinson has joined us from neighbours Watford.

With two straight defeats against Team Bath and Merthyr Tydfil it was a must win game.

We currently lie fourth from bottom in the Southern League and with 12 or so games to go it will be a nervous run in.

February 2007

Game of two halves as league leaders defeat Stones - Sunday 18th February

After 20 minutes of our home against Hendon it looked very ominous but we showed great character and gave a good account of ourselves in the second half.

Jinx continues again -Tuesday 13th February

The team were dealt with another blow this evening when Charlie Keeble sustained an ankle ligament injury at school. This could rule him out for a few weeks.

This season has been one blow after another but we must keep going.

No luck again as Stones lose by the odd goal - Sunday 4th February

Again the Stones worked hard but had little to show for their efforts against fellow strugglers Alpha & Omega, where they lost 2-1.

In their first game without out the permanently departed Jonathan Keys, Calvin Price came forward to go between the sticks and was superb. Charlie Keeble scored his first goal for the club but it was not enough as we frustratingly lost.

Keys leaves - Sunday 4th February

After nearly five years as the teams goalkeeper, Jonathan Keys has been forced to leave the team due to other commitments. He will be a big loss to us and although it is good for him that his rugby has gone well for him it obviously leaves a big whole to fill.

We must move forward though and if todays performance and last weeks is anything to go by we will show some solidarity.

January 2007

Superb performance but result hurts - Sunday 28th January

Today saw the Stones perform superbly well in their first league match of 2007. After a downbeat year in 2006, manager James Smith's team talk was all about starting afresh with a new year and fresh start.

He asked the lads to give everything they had no matter what the score and that is exactly what he got. We were desperately unlucky not to get a point against a frustrated opposition. See match report...

Fixtures out up to 18th February - Monday 22nd January

We have some tough games coming up against Greenford Celtic (this Sunday) and Hendon on the 18th February. The week after next we play Alpha & Omega at home. We have no game scheduled as yet for the 11th February,

League in panic over fixture pile up - Monday 22nd January

Having spoken to Club Chairman Alison Moran tonight, the league have stated that they are growing concerned about the amount of games called off due to the recent bad weather.

Teams in our league like Greenford Celtic (played only 6 games) and even more so Brunswick who have played only three face a nightmare pile up of fixtures.

With the weather not looking any better for the coming weekend things may get worse.

Weather causes havoc again - Saturday 20th January

Our game at Brunswick has been called off. A call was made at 5:30pm to say the pitch not unsuprisingly was waterlogged.

Brunswick now away! - Thursday 18th January

It now turns out that we are now away to Brunswick on Sunday. Kick off is 10:30am.

Kit

We need all the yellow shirts back and also those who still have blue kits need to let James or Mark know so we can see how much kit is outstanding.

Brunswick at home next week - Friday 12th January

We entertain basement team Brunswick next week, which will hopefully give us the chance to turn our season around.

No Game on Sunday - Friday 12th January

The league have not given us a game this week, having said that it is unlikely we would have played anyway with the weather the way it is at the moment.

Weather postpones Hayes Gate match - Saturday 6th January

Tomorrow's match at home to Hayes Gate was postponed this morning. Heavy rain over night and the persistent rain this morning not suprisingly meant the cancellation.

Charlie and Conor will have to wait again for the chance to get a game under their belts.

First team also off - Saturday 6th January

The first teams trip to Yate Town was postponed at 11am this morning also due to heavy rain in the West Country.

Kit check this Saturday - Tuesday 2nd January

Please make sure you bring all your kit back this Saturday so we can count what we have.

With a long break over Christmas it has been hard to keep track of who has what.

Hayes Gate at home this week - Tuesday 2nd January

We have a home game against Hayes Gate this week. Kick off will be the normal time of 2pm.

This is a winnable game as we all now. We should have beaten them away and believe we can get maximum points this time.

Conor and Charlie now signed -  Tuesday 2nd January

Both Conor and Charlie's registrations have now come through and are now available for selection.

December 2006

Danny's off to Spain - Sunday 17th December

Some suprise news broke yesterday morning when Danny announced he will be moving to Spain early in the New Year. Danny and his family have decided to make the move after thinking about doing so for a while but it was not confirmed until this week.

Danny will be missed as will his family. He was an original member of the team and played over 60 times for us at 11-a-side level. Although Danny was not the most punctual of players by his own admission he was a well liked member of the team.

I would like to thank Danny and his family for his efforts and support over the years. Danny Snr and Cathy provided alot of money to buy our first away kit a few years back and that will not be forgotten.

We wish Danny all the best in his new life in Spain and hope he will keep in touch.

Game off - Sunday 17th December

Today's match at Greenford Celtic has been postponed due to our opponents not being able to get a pitch. Just as well really as we were struggling to put a team out due to injury, illness and unavailability.

We have Connor and DB struggling with injury. Adam (unavailable and ill), Raymond, Frankie, Josh, Danny all struggling with illness and George having an injury that may have kept him out. DK was unavailable and so we were severely lacking in numbers.

It hurts like hell - Sunday 10th December

Today saw another heavy defeat and pain for all involved. We must get through this and there is no one that can help us except ourselves.

League delay Charlie's comeback - Friday 8th December

Due to reasons beyond our control Charlie Keeble's registration has been delayed further. We as a club have done everything in our power to get Charlie registered but delays by his former club and the league being strict about his previous registration card, we have become very frustrated.

I am doing everything in my power to resolve the situation.

Home match this weekend - Tuesday 5th December

We have a home game against FC Roundwood this Sunday (10th). Kick off 2pm. Meet time of 1.15pm.

Gaffers View Update - Tuesday 5th December

Hopefully the gaffers page will be updated tomorrow evening.

Gap opens up at the bottom - Tuesday 5th December

A five point gap has opened up over the weekend between ourselves and the teams above us. We need to try and get over our bad run and catch up with those teams.

November

Website updated - Thursday 30th November

Due to technical problems the site has not been updated for nearly a week. Apologies for any inconvenience.

No game or training this week - Thursday 30th November

We do not have a game this week. Due to Mark and James being unavailable there will be no training either this week. Back to normal next week.

Charlie Keeble returns - Thursday 30th November

The transfer form for Charlie Keeble has now come back from Kodak and we hope to have Charlie available for selection for our next game. Welcome back Charlie.

Most upsetting performance to date - Thursday 30th November

Last Sunday proved to be the lowest point in our history going down to our heaviest defeat. We must come together and show some character to get over this period.

Shawkat leaves - Thursday 30th November

It is with regret that I have to confirm that Shawkat has left Wealdstone. I am sorry to lose him but was not happy that he decided to tell me straight after the game at Hendon. 'Shoka' was a good lad with a good sense of humour and his banter will be missed

I never beg players to stay but was disappointed that he decided to leave when we needed him most.

Kind words of encouragement from Hendon Manager - Friday 24th November

I received a message from John Creith, manager of Hendon under 14's after the game on Sunday, which reads as follows:

Your officials, supporters and players were a credit to you and your club. The players kept on battling and never gave up which showed me a great work ethic and team spirit, which are great foundations to build on. Your stand in keeper made some amazing saves and all credit to him. We look forward to visiting you.

All the best

John (Hendon U14s)

Words of encouragement from other managers is hard to come by and his comments should be taken on board and used positively. He obviously sees something good in us and they are things we have been trying to drum into you.

Get your heads up boys.

Away again - Wednesday 22nd November

We are away to St Andrews on Sunday in yet another match on the road. Kick off time is㺊.30am.

It is unsure whether Mark will have maps at training as James is on holiday this week. There will be a meet at the training ground at 9.30am.

Please let Mark or James know where you are intending to meet.

There is a map attached here ........  http://www.wealdstonefcyouth.com/St Andrews FC

The address is Sudbury Court Pavillion, East Lane, North Wembley, HA9.

Directions can be found on League Directory page: http://www.wealdstonefcyouth.com/leaguedirectory.htm

Heavy defeat but we must move on - Sunday 19th November

Going into today's match was always going to be difficult but it was made even harder when Jonathan was unavailable meaning we had to make a desperate plea for a keeper, DB stood in and did a fine job.

It is important we don't feel sorry for ourselves as we lost to a very good team with a very disjointed line up on our part. See match report.

Early kick off at Hendon - Thursday 16th November

Kick off on Sunday is 10.30am at Copthall Playing Fields. Maps will be provided at training.

So near yet so far, a draw in an improved performance - Sunday 12th November

Looking to avenge for our 5-2 defeat a few weeks ago we are unlucky to have to settle for a point in an entertaining game. See match report....

First team unlucky in Bath defeat - Saturday 11th November

A trip to high flying Bath City was always going to be difficult but the Stones put on a good performance. Playing in front of a good atmospheric 700 strong crowd they went down 2-1 but were unlucky not to get something out of the game.

The Stones had their fair share of chances in a entertaining first half, best of all fell to Matt GOODERICK who just failed in his attempt to lob the keeper from just in side the box.

The game was nearing half time when keeper Lee CARROLL brought down the City forward on the edge of the box when running clear of the defence. Much to his and the visitors relief only a yellow card was brandished when the hosts were baying for a red.

The ball was going towards the corner flag so thankfully the referee had the backbone to see common sense.

The Stones were struck a bitter blow with the last kick of the half when a free kick was headed in at the far post to give the home side an undeserved lead.

The second half proved to be a good one in the early stages, free scoring Dean PAPALI met a Graeme MONTGOMERY cross and powered a header home. Much to the pleasure of the 100 or so travelling supporters.

Bath were feeling the pressure and mounted a couple of attacks but the Stones defence held firm until ten minutes from time when the superb Chris O'LEARY let his performance down when he allowed a City attacker to take the ball of him while he was shielding it to run out of play and he crossed for the winner.

The visitors never gave up and were unlucky not to get a draw from a game where they more than matched their opponents.

League Table updated - Saturday 11th November

The League table has been updated to include results from Sunday 29th October but needs to be adjusted slightly to move teams up and down. This will be done ASAP.

Mark Walker decides to move on - Saturday 11th November

Mark has decided to join another team in a lower league to increase his chances of playing. We wish Mark all the best at his new team and thank him for his efforts over the past year.

Mark's departure was very ammicable. Good luck Mark.

Heathrow Club at home on Sunday - Friday 10th November

We play Heathrow at home on Sunday kick off 2pm. Meet time is 1.15pm at Broadfields.

League News - Sunday 5th November

Alpha & Omega pick up their first win of the season against Brunswick by winning 5-0. Hayes Gate narrowly lose at Ruislip Rangers 1-0. Forest, St Andrews and FC Roundwood all lose.

See results page for full details.

First team fight back to earn replay - Saturday 4th November

A poor first half showing saw the first team go in 2-0 down at half time to lowly Leighton Town of the Southern League Midland Division.

On a poor pitch the Stones found it hard to play their passing game while the hosts adapated better to the conditions and took the lead when a defensive mix up allowed the forward to run clean through and shoot past CARROLL in the Stones net.

The Stones were very poor, passing and lack of desire was all to see and it was no suprise when another piece of poor defending allowed Leighton in for their second.

The fans and management showed their unapproval of their display at half time and were sent out with a clear message........ to simply improve.

A minute after the re-start they were awarded a controversial penalty when Dave LAWRENCE was adjudged to have been fouled by the home keeper.Dean PAPALI cooly stepped up to place the penalty in the bottom left hand corner.

The Stones were now on top of the game at last and began to create chance after chance and it was only going to be a matter of time before the equaliser came.

With 5 minutes left a cross from Stanislav ROZBOUD found PAPALI at the back post who superbly guided a header past the keeper, cueing wild celebrations from both the players, fans and management.

Graeme MONTGOMERY almost stole the win but his last gasp effort flashed past the far post. A great second half display was rewarded with a replay on Tuesday at Northwood.

OCTOBER

Mark Walker still with us but released from registration - Sunday 29th October

Much like last week the management had to make a tough decision on a player we have a lot of time for. Mark Walker joined us last season and showed some great potential but has found it hard to earn a starting place for a while.

We told Mark yesterday that we would be releasing him from his registration but gave him the opportunity to stay around and fight for his place. Mark took the news well at the time and stated he wanted to carry on training and work hard to get a place in the team.

Again it was something we dont like doing but we felt it would be unfair to keep Mark tied to us if he could find opportunities elsewhere. Judging by Mark's response he still wants to stay and fight and we are more than willing to allow him to do that.

We have to do what is best for the player and the team and it was purely a footballing decision. It is never easy to do.

First Team settle for a point - Saturday 28th October

A fair result against Cirencester at home on Saturday saw the first team draw 2-2.

Poor defending cost the Stones when a few half hearted challenges allowed the full back free in space and he was able to drive home just inside the box. Minutes later they were level. a John Christian corner found the Cirencester centre half who headed the ball against the back of his team mate and the ball fell kindly to Dean PAPALI to fire home from close range.

The second half started well for the visitors who seemed to get out of the traps quicker and were rewarded when a deep cross was headed in at the back post to give them the lead again.

PAPALI was on the scoresheet to equalise yet again when he was brought down in the area when through on goal. Cirencester were lucky to have a full quota on players when the ref only issued a yellow instead of a red card. PAPALI cooly placed the penalty into the bottom corner.

The Stones were on top after this and you could see the visitors were playing for a draw. The winning goal could not come but it was probably about the right scoreline.

Weekend off week after next - Tuesday 24th October

We have no game schedules on Sunday 5th November so if that is confirmed we have decided to give you the weekend off to recharge your batteries and rest some weary limbs!

Also so you and your parents can enjoy Bonfire Night, which many of you will probably go to on the Saturday.

We will be training as normal this Saturday 28th October.

On a shocking day weather wise, the Stones lead 3-1 with 15 minutes to go but have to settle for a point against Hayes Gate.

Frankie pulls out of Hayes Gate match - Sunday 22nd October

Frankie woke up this morning with a bout of Tonsilitis and has pulled out of the game at Hayes Gate this afternoon.

DA is still having niggling problems with his groin/hip and so is resting, hopefully he will be back to normal soon.

Liam is released - Saturday 21st October

Regrettably Liam McPartland was released from his registration today. James broke the news to him at training today, which he did not find easy to do.

Liam has had limited opportunities this season and was made aware that his appearances maybe minimal at the start of the season but we both agreed to see how things went.

Unfortunately things did not work out for him this season. Mark and James had to make a decision which was going to be fair to Liam and have his interests at heart. We could not guarantee him matches and it would have been unfair of us to keep him registered when he could find other opportunities elsewhere.

We have given Liam the opportunity to carry on training with us if he wishes to do so and also offered to help him find another team if he wants our help.

It is the hardest thing about being a manager having to release players especially when you have a lot of time for the player and his family.

If Liam decides not to train with us I would like to thank him for all his efforts over the past few seasons and thank his mum Angela for her support.

We wish him all the best for the future.

First team progress in Trophy - Saturday 21st October

The First team eased to victory over Witham Town in the FA Trophy at Northwood. Despite dominating the whole game the score was 0-0 at half time but a fine strike from on form Graeme Montgomery gave the Stones a deserved lead just after the break.

First Team win again - Saturday 14th October

The first team continued their mini revival with a superb 4-2 win at Corby Town. Despite going behind in no less than 18 seconds, the outstanding Graeme MONTGOMERY equalised a minute later from a free-kick.

Poor marking allowed Corby back in front to give them a 2-1 lead at half time. Matt GOODERICK pulled the Stones back level with a close range finish a minute into the second half and MONTGOMERY drove home from the edge of the box to turn the lead in the Stones favour.

Chris O'LEARY completed the win stabbing home from close range to gain a vital win.
