Match Reports by Mark Hyde

Wealdstone 6-3 Heathrow Club

The first home match of the season saw the Under 8 A's beating Heathrow 6-3 down at The Vale this morning.
It was a great all round team performance and had Heathrow not had a late rally would have looked even better.
Four goals for Jack Hyde including a first half hat-trick, two for Charlie Perkins and MOM for Dan Smith.

Team: Harry Bates, Taylor Braisher, James Cooney, Cameron Deacon, Daniel Gallant, Jack Hyde, Charlie Perkins, Jack Saunders, Daniel Smith.

Pitshanger 0 – 3 Wealdstone

A first Minute goal by James Cooney set the team up for a dominant first half with Jack Hyde making it 2-0 before half time.

The second half was an altogether tighter affair with chances for both teams, but Jack Saunders was destined to keep his first clean sheet of the season and the match was finally settled with Jack Hyde’s second of the game a few minutes from time.

Once again a hard working team performance that did without the luxury of substitutes due to Illness and outside commitments.

MOM – Jack Hyde

Team: Harry Bates, Taylor Braisher, James Cooney, Cameron Deacon, Jack Hyde, Jack Saunders, Daniel Smith.

Wealdstone 4-1  LNER

LNER’s opener on 10 minutes was the only goal of a very tight first half.

The second half witnessed a return of Wealdstone’s trademark passing game and this was duly rewarded when Charlie Perkins equalised within 2 minutes of the restart.

A further 2 goals from Charlie and one from Jack Hyde, together with some commanding goalkeeping from Jack Saunders finished the game off and gave Charlie his hat-trick.

Larkspur Rovers 3 – 1 Wealdstone

Wealdstone failed to produce their normal form away to Larkspurs today.

A closely contested first half had the boys hitting the post and then conceding

the opener barely a minute before the break.

The second half started as the first had finished and Larkspurs took a 2 goal lead just 3 minutes in.

Wealdstone continued to battle and got their reward with a looping shot over the keeper by Charlie Perkins.

The final goal came as Wealdstone pushed forward to get the equaliser and were caught on the break late into the game.

MOM – Jack Saunders (GK)

Team - Harry Bates, Taylor Braisher, James Cooney, Cameron Deacon, Daniel Gallant, Jack Hyde, Charlie Perkins, Jack Saunders, Daniel Smith, Joe Lally

Wealdstone 2 – 3 Pinner Utd

A strong performance by Wealdstone in tricky conditions twice looked to have ended Pinner United’s 100% league record.

Wealdstone took the lead through a Charlie Perkins storming run and finish all the way from the edge of his own box.  Pinner equalised late in the first half to make it 1-1 at half time.

Wealdstone again took the lead when Jack Hyde scored early in the second half, only to be brought back level within 3 minutes.

The game had been 70% Wealdstone, who continued to dominate and look for the winner only to be cruelly beaten with a last minute goal from United.

MOM – Cameron Deacon

Team - Harry Bates, Taylor Braisher, James Cooney, Cameron Deacon, Daniel Gallant, Jack Hyde, Charlie Perkins, Jack Saunders, Daniel Smith, Joe Lally.

Wealdstone 3 – 2 St Andrews

The Under 8’s were clearly influenced by yesterday’s Senior team performance and decided to make the final result more exciting for the 30 or 40 spectators present.

Stones were 1 up from a Joe Lally strike within 5 minutes and 2 up and cruising via Charlie Perkins before half time. The boys obviously felt sorry for Jack Saunders in goal who hadn’t touched the ball in the first half and invited

St Andrews to pull one back early in the second half. Happy to have made the score interesting Wealdstone pushed on again and Charlie Perkins grabbed his second of the afternoon to make it 3-1. A two-goal lead was again too easy on the watching parents and management, and so the final 5 minutes were given an edge with a second St Andrews goal.

MOM – Charlie Perkins

Team - Harry Bates, Taylor Braisher, James Cooney, Cameron Deacon, Daniel Gallant, Jack Hyde, Charlie Perkins, Jack Saunders, Daniel Smith, Joe Lally.
