Match Reports

Hillingdon Abbots V Wealdstone

On a wet and miserable day Wealdstone U9A had an away fixture with Hillingdon Abbots.
The boys looked fantastic in their new kits and played even better with all the boys giving 110%.

As soon as we kicked off the boys were passing the ball about and creating chances and it was'nt long before the goal came with a slick pass from Jake to Rawn and Rawn finding the back of the net 1-1.
Hillingdon Abbots soon replied with a thunderbolt Drilon had no chance with 1-1. After the goal the boys heads did'nt drop and they kept pressing with Jake going on a fantastic run but getting fouled at the edge of Hillingdon box. Up stepped Jaedan to take the freekick THUNDERBOLT top corner 2-1. Just before half time Patrick scored again to make it 3-1 after some neat passing between Josh,Jaedan,Albie and jake to set him up.
The second half started the same as the first with neat passing and Patrick scored again to make it 4-1. Hillingdon came at us with numbers and Drilon had to make two fantastic saves to keep them out but a rebound fell to a Hillingdon player and he scored,4-2.
Straight away Wealdstone was on the attack again with Albie and Jake going close with some good efforts,Hillingdon were always a danger in attack and Josh,Aiden and Jaedan delt with it comfortably. Drilon was the provider after a great save setting up Rawn to score his second and giving Wealdstone a 5-2 lead. Hillingdon did score a late goal to make it 5-3 but the game was over due to great attacking and defensive football.
TEAM: Drion, Aiden, Jaedan, Josh, Patrick, Albie, Jake and Rawn.

MAN OF THE MATCH-ALL THE ABOVE  "GREAT TEAM PERFORMANCE"  (UP THE WEALDSTONE)

Wealdstone v Bessingby Park Rangers

On a sunny Sunday morning Wealdstone u9a were at home to Bessingby Park Rangers u9a.
The game started in a fast and furious tempo with both teams pressing for a goal,it was'nt long for the first goal to come with Aiden scoring his first goal for the club 1-0. Bessingby hit back within 5 mins to make it 1-1.
The first half ended with chances at both ends with Drilon making to top saves and Josh saving on the line,Wealdstone could of easy gone in at half time winning but good saves and misses ment the teams went in at half time all square.
The second half started the same way as the first "fast" and it was'nt long for the next goal great link up between Rawn, Jake and Albie to create the goal,a low hard cross by Albie which deflected of a Bessingby park player and in the net 2-1.
Bessingby are always a threat going foward and Jaedan and Josh delt with it,but a great move Bessingby outwitted the team and they scored 2-2.
Wealdstone kept pressing and pressing and it paid off with a fine goal by Jake to make the score 3-2,the boys held out for a great win and a top performance.

PRINCES PARK A V WEALDSTONE A

ON A FRESH SUNDAY MORNING WE PLAYED AGAINST PRINCES PARK AT THEIR PLACE.
THE GAME STARTED ONE SIDED FOR ABOUT FIVE MINS WITH WEALDSTONE HAVING A LEAST 8 ATEMPS TO SCORE INCLUDING HITTING THE POST AND HAVING A BLATANT PENALTY CLAIM REFUSED.
THE GAME SOON EVENED OUT DUE TO THE BOYS NOT PLAYING TO THEIR BEST ABILITY THAT THEY CAN.
WEALDSTONE DID SCORE WITH JAKE FROM LONG RANGE. 1-0 BUT THE GAME WAS VERY SLOPPY WITH WEALDSTONE LOSING SHAPE ALL THE TIME AND NOT FULLY COMMITTED.
PRINCES PARK SCORED SOON AFTER TO MAKE 1-1 DUE TO SLOPPY FOOTBALL BY ALL. HALF TIME COULD'NT COME QUICK ENOUGH TO SORT IT OUT.
THE SECOND HALF STARTED THE SAME AS THE FIRST PLENTY OF CHANCES FOR WEALDSTONE BUT NO GOALS,WE WERE STRUGGLING IN FRONT OF GOAL DUE TO POOR FINISHING AND FANTASTIC SAVES BY THE GOALIE (ONE AFTER AN OTHER).PRINCES PARK SCORED AGAIN AFTER POOR DEFENDING 2-1.
WITH 15 MINS TO GO THE BOYS DECIDED TO PLAY FOOTBALL AND IT WAS'NT LONG BEFORE THE GOALS CAME 2 IN A MATTER OF 5 MINS BOTH BY RAWN 3-2.
WITH 2 MINS TO GO ANOTHER ERROR CAUSED A GOAL FOR PRINCES PARK TO EQUALISE 3-3.
THIS IS A GAME THAT SHOULD OF BEEN WON BY WEALDSTONE BUT DUE TO SLOPPY FOOTBALL AND COSTLY MISTAKES THE GAME FINISHED A DRAW.
(FULL CREDIT TO PRINCES PARK FOR NOT LETTING THE BOYS PLAY THEIR GAME).

TEAM: DRILON, AIDEN, JAEDAN, JOSH, PAT, ALBIE, JAKE AND RAWN.

HARROW ST MARYS U9A V WEALDSTONE U9A

On a fresh Sunday morning Wealdstone played Harrow St Marys, the game started and Wealdstone won a corner straight away after an attacking move straight from the centre. A good cross from Josh and a half volley from Albie just inches wide. Harrow were then on the attack themselves going close. The Wealdstone boys were up against a big, strong team and the boys had to battle extremely hard. A goal came after about 15 mins Harrow scored a well-worked move 1-0.
The boys heads didn't drop and we were back in the game within minutes, great link up from Jake and Albie to set up Rawn to finish a great move 1-1.
The first half was soon over and the boys deserved everything due to the great defensive work from Jaedan, Josh, Aiden and Pat.
The second half started the same as the first, tough and fast with Jake, Albie and Rawn going close but from some good defending from Harrow prevented any goals. Drilon kept his cool and delt with anything Harrow threw at us. Wealdstone had a great penalty shout turned down when Jake was fouled in the box, which could of changed the score but the game finshed 1-1.
A fantastic performance by all the boys and m.o.t.m could of went to many but on the day Jake done a little bit more to win it.
TEAM: Drilon, Aiden, Jaedan, Josh, Pat, Albie, Jake and Rawn.

WEALDSTONE U9A V RUISLIP RANGERS U9B

On a very wet Saturday morning Wealdstone were at home against Ruislip Rangers.
The rain was coming down very heavy so the game started a bit scrappy but after about 5 mins Wealdstone got to grips with the weather and were taking control of the game going on the attack time after time. Wealdstone should of been two up within 10 mins but some top saves hitting the post and good defending by Ruislip kept us out.
The game was all Wealdstone with Albie, Jake and Rawn going close (were we ever going to score) YES, a stunning volley from Pat inside the centre circle top corner (WHAT A BLINDER) 1-0 Wealdstone. Half time soon come with the boys in full control.
The second half started the same all Wealdstone with Rawn always a danger and it wasn't long before Rawn rode two challenges and scored a cool finish bottom corner 2-0. Within about 5 mins it was 3-0 with Albie first to pounce on a cross from Pat and sliping the ball home.
The boys must of thought the game was won with 10 mins to go but Ruislip had other ideas and scored a goal through sloppy play at the back 3-1. Within 5 mins they scored again a own goal. 3-2. After a lack of concentration due to the terrible weather the boys got it back together and scored a late goal, a fantastic cross from Josh and another cool finsh from Albie 4-2. Game over. Full credit Ruislip how defended surperbly to keep the score down.
All the boys played great today in wet conditions and also a good debut from George. (Well done).
Fantastic defending and a cool head by Josh and out and out all round great play from Albie earned them a share of MOTM.

GOALS=PAT-1,RAWN-1,ALBIE-2

AFC WEMBLEY U9A V WEALDSTONE U9A

On a fresh sunday morning Wealdstone travelled to AFC Wembley.
Wealdstone started slow due to a busy weekend, training on friday and a match on Saturday really took it out of the boys.
Wembley were a strong, fast and physical team (sometimes a little too physical, which was not noticed).
Wembley were the team who wanted it more for the first ten mins creating good chances but easily delt with from Drilon, Josh, Jaedan and Aiden. Wealdstone then decided to start playing and created chance after chance after chance but no goals due to some outstanding saves by the Wembley keeper.
Against the run of play Wembley got a corner late on well after 25 mins, which was well saved by Drilon but the rebound not cleared and scored 1-0 to Wembley.
The second half started and the boys were well up for it and it showed with chance after chance but still no goal, Wembley keeper was outstanding and clearly the (motm) by a mile. The tackles kept flying in from Wembley and the pushing and pulling was never noticed by the ref but the boys battled on but a late challenged on Jaedan ended his morning going off with a injury to his knee. (Big loss due he was playing so well).
Wealdstone kept pressing for the equalizer but top defending kept the ball out and due to Wealdstone pressing to get the goal Wembley broke against the run of play and scored late to make it 2-0.
The scoreline did not reflect the game as Wealdstone deserved at worst a draw. The boys come off battered and bruised with their heads down but in our opinon they played top football but clearly the result was never going to go our way!

MOTM=JAKE AND RAWN shared the award for gutsy performances.(well done)

Team=Drilon, Jaedan, Josh, Aiden, Pat, George, Albie, Jake and Rawn.

"UP THE WEALDSTONE

WEALDSTONE U9A V ST JOSEPHS U9A

On a fine winters morning Wealdstone were at home to a strong St Jospehs A team.
The game started pretty even with both teams pressing but it was Wealdstone who took the early advantage when Jake received the ball and played a fantastic through ball between two defenders, which set up Rawn to run on to and score a neat goal past the goalie (no chance) 1-0.

St Joes heads never went down and it wasn’t long for them to get the equalizer, a mistake in front of goal when the ball should of been cleared caused a goalmouth scramble which St Joes scored.1-1.

The second half started with both teams going close in the early minutes, Jaedan and Drilon had to be at their best to keep St Joes out and their no 6 and 8 had fantastic games making last minute tackles to deny Jake and Rawn.

After about 10 mins St Joes scored a good goal after hitting the bar and Drilon making a top save 2-1 St Joes.

With 15 mins to go Wealdstone threw everything at St Joes, corner after corner, attack after attack with good efforts from Albie and Jake inches wide and a bullet header from Rawn from a Pat corner inches wide. The boys tried their hardest to get the equalizer and gave 110% but the ball just wouldn’t go in. Neat passing and great defending from all and on the day a draw would of been the fair result. WELL DONE BOYS.

MOTM = Drilon
